i love how much controversy my doc has sparked.

not so much controversy as pointing out the inaccuracies

i feel like the people who make these types of videos do so in an effort to sort of ‘advertise’ bully breeds, when they really don’t need advertising. i’d be happier if less people owned them, less idiot dog owners who don’t know what they’re doing and getting an animal they can’t or don’t know how to handle. no one ever points out the differences of HA and DA, or points out that it isn’t a bad thing for a bully breed to be DA, that it is not a behaviour that needs to be/can be ‘rehabilitated’ or ‘trained out’ [again, regarding high drive game bred working dogs].

idk i just feel like people who believe ‘PIT BULLS ARE EVIL BABY KILLING MONSTERS’ and believe so because they’re blinded by the media, and suddenly have their view on the dogs changed by a short video on youtube and believe ‘THESE DOGS CAN DO ABSOLUTELY NO HARM IT’S ALL HOW YOU RAISE EM’ aren’t any less blinded than they were before… they’ll believe anything, they won’t do their own research, they won’t educate themselves on the history of these dogs, and it’s the ‘it’s all how you raise em’ attitude that causes more harm than good. you can’t fix stupid.

yes, some poor-excuses for owners have them, and yes, they have a history of blood (that people have entirely INFLUENCED them to be a part of), and yes, there is a great deal of pit bulls out right now (some articles claim they are going through a “baby-boom” of sorts).

but my video (a school project, and a passionate one at that), was meant to show those who only fear the dogs. as quotes from one of my interviewees, “you don’t have to love them, just give them a chance.”

now, i will allow the “breed/aggression” relationship does relate to some dogs more than others - BUT so many of the dogs i have met have disproved anything of a the Pit Bull’s “violent” reputation. they CAN be sweet, affectionate, and nurturing.
just as much as any other breed can be vicious and aggressive.
i’ve met dachshunds that were territorial and aggressive to others. i’ve have my own dog that is DA, and she is a mix breed of shiba inu and sharpei.
just as any any pit bull can be sweet and nurturing with the right owner and training, any other dog can easily become DA.

and yes - any dog, even those that have been “raised correctly” may even become DA. but that’s because, as the ending of my film talks about, “every dog is an individual.”
not all people love other people or children or pets. everyone has the right to like/dislike whoever - and dogs can follow in-toe.
my dog with DA loves to play with puppies, but hates older dogs.
there are many dogs that are exactly the opposite.

ya know, for a “vegan,” you seem to not understand the individuality of animals.

as far as your argument about “bait dogs,” i must say you are dead-wrong. they are real.
you can NOT sum up a “game dog” with injuries to just that - HOW on earth does being a “game dog” explain those with their teeth PULLED FROM THEIR MOUTH? no roots, no nothing - cleanly pulled from their gums. what “game/hunter” does that to a dog?

do a degree, i can agree that some dogs with scars may just get them from their environment or scraps with other dogs on the streets.
but what about those dogs with acid and fire burns down the entire length of their spine? do you think that is just from pure accident? people out there do that to “toughen” their skin for fighting.

though you are right to your opinion, there are some discrepancies in your discrepancies.
